About the Artist

"I am fascinated by the enormous amount and variety of information in the human face… Analyzing, studying, feeling and meditating through the process of looking and translating into marks, strokes, stains on a page are my passions."

-Oscar Martinez Heredia

Oscar Martinez Heredia is best known for his expressive psychological and emotional portraits of people. His art has been showcased in more than 30 exhibitions, most recently in San Miguel de Allende at the Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery, Galeria OMO, and "Belles Artes" (Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez "El Nigromante"). His drawings and paintings reside in private collections in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Denmark, and France.  His artistic inspirations range from the Old Masters and mid-20th century Mexican muralists to the Expressionists, Surrealists, and contemporary illustrators. Oscar lives in San Miguel de Allende with his wife, and 2 children.

For Oscar, the creative process is about play and adventure. He makes art to discover the world.
